On July 12, 2010, a day after the 7th LTBC in the Philippines, around 90 dynamic Edmarkers of different races flew to Malaysia for a week of adventure and learning. I was one of them and was also eager and oblivious to the sleepless nights and aching body I had acquired while preparing for the LTBC.

Mr. Gilbert Yeoh and Mr. Marcus Ngoh, together with local Malaysia Staff welcomed us in the KL Airport. They ushered us to the bus that would bring us to Genting Highlands Resort and Hotel, which is also dubbed as the “City of Entertainment” in Malaysia. We arrived there at around 7 pm.

We spent the second day in Malaysia walking around Genting’s Theme Parks. The bond among fellow Edmarkers was strengthened.

The following day, we went back to Kuala Lumpur and did some shopping. That night, we had a short program. Everyone participated in the mini-LTBC hosted by Mr. Chuck Ansao and Ms. Maryaks of Nigeria, while the games were facilitated by Mr. Dennis Evangelista.  In his speech, our dear CEO and Chairman stressed on the importance of standing for every decision one makes. He also expressed his appreciation to the Distributors who joined this Malaysia Trip.

On the fourth day, the Distributors had a grand time exploring the scenic spots especially the awesome Petronas Towers. Before going back to the hotel, I together with fellow staff went to the new factory to help in the preparation for the inauguration.

Finally the grand day came! On July 16, the newest Edmark Industries Malaysia Factory’s inauguration started at 9 am. It was attended by special and distinguished guests of honor. The program was held in spacious Auditorium. After which, Mr. Gilbert Yeoh, General Manager for Edmark Industries Malaysia gave us a quick tour inside the impressive factory. It was really a gathering of all champions from all over the world. Edmark has its own way of bringing these people together with just one mission, and that is to help other people succeed.

The program wrapped up at around 5 pm. Then last minute shopping was done in Sunway Pyramid Mall. At 7 pm, a simple yet special dinner was hosted by Mr. Sam Low and his family in their own residence. At 11 pm, the Distributors were brought to the airport, while 10 of the Management Team stayed until the 19th.  Surely, a new inspiration was infused in the hearts of the Edmarkers. With the new factory, and with the tremendous international expansion, Edmark is one successful company and Edmarkers are all part of this success.

Special thanks to Mr. Marcus Ngoh, Mr. Gilbert Yeoh, Mr. Yap Wai Yen, to all the Edmark Industries Staff and most especially to our beloved CEO, Mr. Sam Low and his family for their warm hospitality, generosity and their love.

EDMARK INDUSTRIES MALAYSIA FACTORY INAUGURATION
By: Lorraine S. Romero

It took a heart full of love to build a factory as huge and as majestic as the Edmark Industries Malaysia Factory. Last July 16, 2010, the Factory was inaugurated and was attended by Distributors, special and distinguished guests. The program started at around 10 am with an enchanting parade and the ribbon cutting.

Edmark Ghana’s General Manager, Mr. Hajj Awal, Double Crown Manager, Mr. Anafo Trinidad and Edmark Industries Malaysia’s General Manager, Mr. Gilbert Yeoh led the Muslim, Christian and Buddhist prayers, respectively. The latter and Mr. Dennis Evangelista, our Training Consultant hosted the Event. To officially start the program, Ms. Karen Hee, Managing Director and also the better half of Mr. Sam Low gave her welcome remarks. She graciously thanked and acknowledged everyone who attended this special occasion. The Ambassadors of Nigeria and Ghana were there to witness the Event as well. Mother Dehyana Lee Aitken was also present.

Four well-respected personalities gave their blessings. The Most Ven K Sri Dhammaratana Nayaka Maha Thero, Malaysia’s Chief High Priest gave his Buddhist blessings. Encik Mahadi Mohd, Rev. Philip Thomas and Swami Gopelan Patacharir gave the Muslim, Christian and Hindu blessings, respectively.

Right after the heart-warming dedication and prayers, CEO and Chairman, Mr. Sam Low delivered his message. He was thankful to those who have been with him all throughout. Mr. Sam Low’s happiness was unmistakable in his voice. After this, everyone went out of the function hall for the symbolic ceremonies such as the flying of the balloons and the birds. Then Mr. Gilbert Yeoh toured everyone inside the remarkable factory. He patiently and lovingly gave details on the production of the products. He was proud to say that new robots were bought to aid in the process.  Edmark surely has the finest factory.

Subsequent to the tour, lunch was served while Yee Ming Low, the Chairman’s eldest son performed his act that made him a three-time Guinness Book of Records holder. Inspiring testimonies came later that afternoon. Everyone happily danced to the beat of the music. Surely, it was such a wonderful day! Edmark has proved to be the best, with the best people around as well!

All the delegates stayed a minimum 2 nights at Genting First World Hotel, which is according to the Guinness Book of Records “The World’s Largest Hotel”. Not only our delegates enjoyd the beautiful cold weather at the ‘top of the world’, they were all treated to an exclusive all-day “indoor & outdoor theme park” access ticket. Genting was filled with laughter and joy heard from our Edmarkers of various nationalities when they were all trying all the roller-coasters, space drop, spin rides, boating adventures, etc.

And to top it all, our Chairman bought tickets for everyone to watch the ‘Dreamz Magic Show’ at the Genting Pavillion Theater. Besides enjoying all the rides and theater shows, many Edmarkers also took the opportunity to shop and shop and shop.

Day 2 – The most anticipated Edmark New Factory

DSC02115_tn

A trip to Malaysia will not be complete without a visit to our highly anticipated soon-to-be open Edmark Factory located at Bandar Kinrara. Our General Manager of Edmark Industries, Mr. Gilbert Yeoh was personally present to host all our delegates and conducted a personalized tour of the factory. Everybody was in awed at the size of our new factory and the technology that was adopted in creating this state-of-the-art factory. Also, we are almost qualified to be exclusively labelled as a “green house” for our environmental friendly featured factory.

After lunch, all our delegates left for Putrajaya for a short sight-seeing trip.

Day 4 – KL City Tour, Dinner, Free & Easy

One of the major landmarks of Malaysia is of course the Petronas Twin Towers, which at one point of time, stands as the tallest building in the world. Although Malaysia eventually surrendered this crown to Taiwan, our Petronas twin tower is still the highest TWIN towers in the world.  As evident from all these pictures, our brothers and sisters from Africa can only be stunned by the majestic heights of modern engineering in turning the Petronas twin towers into a major landmark of Malaysia.

Other places visited were our King’s Palace, the Sultan Abdul Samad Shah building, Central Market and of course, KLCC. A sumptuous lunch was served at the base of Petronas Twin Tower, ‘San Francisco Steakhouse’.

For those qualified Edmarkers who have NOT signed up for the LTBC 2009 in Philippines and also joining the Malaysia Tour, check out what you will be missing.

“The Petronas Twin Towers (also known as the Petronas Towers or just Twin Towers), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia are twin towers and were the world’s tallest buildings, before being surpassed by Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings in the world. They were the world’s tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004 if measured from the level of the main entrance to the structural top, the original height reference used by the US-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat from 1969 (three additional height categories were introduced as the tower neared completion in 1996).

The towers feature a skybridge between the two towers on 41st and 42nd floors, which is the highest 2-story bridge in the world. The bridge is 170m above the ground and 58 m long, weighing 750 tons. The same floor is also known as the podium, since visitors desiring to go to higher levels have to change elevators here. The skybridge is open to all visitors, but free passes (limited to 1700 people per day) must be obtained on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors are only allowed on the 41st floor as the 42nd floor can only be used by the tenants of the building.

The skybridge also acts as a safety device, so that in the event of a fire or other emergency in one tower, tenants can evacuate by crossing the skybridge to the other tower. The total evacuation triggered by a bomb hoax on September 12, 2001 (the day after the September 11 attacks destroyed the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City) showed that the bridge would not be useful if both towers need to be emptied simultaneously, as the capacity of the staircases was insufficient for such an event. Plans thus call for the lifts to be used if both towers need to be evacuated, and a successful drill following the revised plan was conducted in 2005.” (source: wikipedia)

The Malaysia Tour will start from July 13th to July 17th, 2009. Hurry, limited seats left. Sign up now!
